Microsoft Azure Databricks – A Collaboration of Microsoft Azure with Databricks
The tech giant, Microsoft Azure and the unified analytics company, Databricks has collaborated their services for introducing the Microsoft Azure Databricks, aiming to help its customers or users for pulling out the values from the big data and AI.
The integrated solution of Microsoft Azure and Databricks i.e. Microsoft Azure Databricks offer the platform of the unified analytics within the cloud platform by Azure.
The CEO as well as co-founder of Databricks, Ali Ghodsi appreciated the company’s collaboration with the tech giant, Microsoft through their words. They said that this collaboration has built the momentum of their company, Databricks as cloud platform for their service of analytics, powered by Apache Spark.
Ali Ghodsi also described the ability of offering the platform of Unified Analytics to the users of Microsoft Azure through this collaboration as invaluable for the end users who all are looking forward for simplification of their big data and AI.
This collaborated solution also offers the Unified Analytics platform of Databricks integrated with the cloud platform of Azure that surrounds the Azure Portal and Active Directory of Azure. Apart from this, the other data services of Azure and Microsoft like Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake Sore, and Microsoft Power BI.
Even the corporate vice president of Azure Data, Rohan Kumar from Microsoft has been marked the collaboration as the most effective way for their company so as to meet the demand of their users for Spark on Azure. He also added to his words that the organizations had experienced a lot of interest and engagement of its users in the preview of the organizations to fulfill their need of analytics platform of high performance based on Apache Spark.
This collaborated solution has allowed the users for placing their increased productivity, collaboration, globally scale analytics, and data science projects over the trustworthy and secured cloud environment.
This collaborated platform has a number of cross customers that includes Lennox international and E.ON. The collaborated solution has benefited various international companies like Latter (international private energy company). As according to Sam Julian, the data services product owner of Latter analyze a terabyte of wind turbine data on regular basis. Earlier the analytics process takes several hours but now the time has been reduced to few minutes with the help of Microsoft Azure Databricks.
The director of IT at Lennox International, named Sunil Bondalapati also told that they supply the Wi-Fi enabled thermostats and the Microsoft Azure Databricks has let them to increase their efficiency of detecting switch failures from 60% to 94%.
Apart from this, the collaborated services have unlocked the flood gates of various new cases within the Lennox International. As earlier it took 6 hours for processing the 2 million records created by 15 devices in 15 homes. But now, the Microsoft Azure Databricks has been reduced to the time 14 minutes for processing the 10 billion records recorded by 25000 homes.
